Curtis, (Michael Shannon) starts to have really scary, apocalyptic dreams. The dreams terrify him, become all consuming and he starts to doubt his sanity, as does his family and friends. Believing his dreams might be true he focuses on building a storm shelter in his garden much to his wife’s annoyance.
Written and directed by Jeff Nichols who made “Mud” he keeps the story really tense and unsettling throughout. A fantastic performance by Michael Shannon as Curtis gradually unravels. All the time doubting his own sanity but feeling in his own mind that the apocalypse is coming and all he wants to do is keep his family safe.
