Prisoners

During a Thanksgiving dinner at the house of their neighbours, two young girls, Anna Dover and Joy Birch, go missing. A police hunt finds an RV which had been parked outside the house, and when Detective David Loki tries to confront the driver,Alex Jones, he attempts to escape, but is arrested.
Having no eveidence to hold him, he is released. Believing he’s guilty Anna’s father Kelly, kidnaps Jones and tortures him to get information. But will Detective Loki find out the truth?

I liked the location for this sort of film, its midwinter, very bleak and cold not the sort of place you would want to stop in let alone lose someone. Hugh Jackman is really good as a normal working man determined to protect his family. Detective Loki played by Jake Gylennhall is an interesting conflicted character. He has solved all his cases, he is very quietly obsessed with finding the truth, but he’s tattooed and doesn’t fit the normal Cop profile and you sense he has a history.

Great acting, very well shot, extremely tense K and I were shouting at the telly at one point!

A definite watch
