December Media Diet

Watched this while on hols, some really funny moments. Ryan Gosling is brilliant as ken and his development of Kendom as an alternative to Barbieland is hilarious. Glorias monologue was so true but I do feel you could write the same speech on the pressures of being a man in todays world.

JFK

We decided to give this a rewatch as Emma has been learning about the Vietnam War and the period preceding it.

Nora and Hae Sung, two childhood friends, are seperated after Nora’s family emigrates from South Korea to Canada. Twenty years later, after talking online they meet again in New York. is there Past Life going to continue in this life?
Central to the story is the concept of “In Yeon” a buddhist concept which means that any small connection between two people whose paths cross enough times, even in past lives, can lead to love or marriage.
This is beautiful film with fantastic pacing. What makes it is, Greta lees performance as Nora, she will definitely be nominated in the awards season. A must watch.

The Last Of Us

Rewatched this even though it only came out earlier this year. I think this is superb and I enjoyed this even more on the second watch. I am wondering about the central theme to this series…I think it is about love which in turn give them motivation to live rather than just surviving in a post apocalyptic world. Brilliant

The Night of

Rewatched this as its one of my favourite box sets ever. I love everything about it the script, direction, and the cinematography. Its so well acted by Riz Ahmed and John Tutorro is just so good. Made me feel sad watching the late Michael K Williams, he has such presence on screen. I must watch The Wire again..

The Creator

Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua, is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war and mankind itself.

I was on board with this fiulm as soon as I read Greth Edwards directed it as Rogue One has become my favourite Star Wars films.
This film looks amazing and makes you wonder if our prejudice to A.I. may be flawed, and definitely highlights the faults of mankind.
