Where was shaun?

we had in the lakes, the weather was a-mazin, well up in the 20’s every day apart from K’s birthday on the Friday.
In pre-Emma days we used to just spend most of our time up in the hills but now that we are unable to do that we have been able to explore the lakes in a different way. So we did a boat trip along windermere, a ride on a steam train, a visit to an aquarium, swimming, a walk at Tarn Hows, a visit to Keswick and a yummy lunch (K’s birthday treat) at Lucy’s.
Al and I did get up the hills on Wednesday, we got up at 4 leaving the house shortly before 5 and hiked over past Loughrigg in the rain with a storm overhead, down past Rydal and up over Fairfield. We did contemplate coming down at Fairfield as the cloud had come down but we waited for a while and fortunately it cleared so were able to get across and do Helvyllen. It was an amazing, long day. We didn’t come down until 6 pm!

On the way home we called in at Glen and Allan’s, we were only expecting a cup of tea but Glen had laid on a lovely lunch and  it was great to see Susan, Joanne (who I haven’t seen for 18 years), and to meet George, Sabina and Bella.
