This compelling film is based on the true story of the Bielski partisans, a group led by four Jewish brothers who saved and recruited Jews in Poland during the Second World War. They saved over 1200 jews, living in Naliboki forest for over two years. Although they were quite well organised building a a kitchen, a mill, a bakery, a bathhouse and a medical clinic one can only the imagine the hardships they must have endured, particularly the winters.
I seem to remember the critics hating this, but I really liked it, Nice to see Daniel Craig playing a character with more depth and even Jamie Bell is good.
