Randy “The Ram” Robinson (Mickey Rourke) a professional wrestler was a big hit in the 80’s but now 20 years on, his popularity has declined, he’s still wrestling but only earning a little money in increasingly violent matches. It is after one of these that he suffers a heart attack and has to have a bypass.
Forced into retirement, he tries to re-engage with his estranged daughter and to form a relationship with a stripper he has been seeing.
Cheery stuff eh? Don’t be put off, its well worth a watch. Mickey Rourke is excellent, his character is quite endearing so the story really pulls you in.
