The Girl Who Played with Fire

The second in the trilogy of films based on The Stieg Larsons Millennium Trilogy. This film follows Lisbeth as she returns from abroad only to be put under suspicion for a triple murder. Mikael Blomkvist has to do what he can to find her before the authorities do.

I didn’t think this film was as good as the first one. Staying faithful to the book it lacks any interaction between the main characters and although this is carried off in the book it doesn’t really work on screen.
I also think that if you hadn’t read the book you wouldn’t have a clue what was going on so its not a particularly good adaptation.

However, Noomi Rapace is excellent as Lisbeth Salander. She’s going to be in the next Sherlock Holmes film. I hope she gets to smile in that role!
