Midnight in Paris

Gil (Owen Wilson), a screenwriter, on hols in Paris with his fiancée, Inez, and future in-laws. Struggling to finish his first novel, he wants too move to Paris as he finds it inspiring but Inez wants too live in Malibu. While in the city they bump into a couple of Inez’s friends who Gil can’t stand.
One night, at midnight, Gil is on a drunken walk when he accepts a lift in an old car, with the people who are all dressed in 1920’s clothes he goes to a bar and slowly realises he has been transported back to the 1920’s. Here, he meets Hemingway, Cole Porter and F. Scott Fitzgerald among others. When he leaves he is transported back to 2010. Over the next few days he goes back to the 1920’s every night and finds love…..
A completely off the wall story. I really enjoyed it. As with all Woody Allen films there is perhaps too much dialogue at some stages but its really enjoyable. Wonderful shots of Paris and look out for Adrian Brody playing Salvador Dali, he’s really funny.
