Star Trek Into Darkness

Corky and I went to the imax to see Star Trek on Sunday. The film starts starts with a bit of a subplot which I think is to demonstrate the friendship between Kirk and Spock before launching into the main story. Starfleet agent John Harrison for reasons unknown attacks Starfleet Command in a bid to kill as many high ranking officers as possible. Kirk is given permission to hunt Harrison down who has fled to the Klingon World, Kronos But who is Harrison and why does he hate starfleet so much?

We both really enjoyed this film. It looks fantastic, it does have a bit of a cheesy beginning which does make you wander where its going. However, as soon as Benedict Cumberbatch (Harrison) appears on screen the film really takes off. He gives a tremendous performance. Watching him play his character reminded me of the quote from Vincenzo Coccotti (Christopher Walken – True Romance): “you tell the angels in heaven you never seen evil so singularly personified as you did in the face of the man who killed you.”

Really good film, great character development, great acting, great special effects so its all pretty great really.Enjoy
