Based on the Book “Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10” by Marcus Luttrell. The story is an account of failed Operation Red Wings, which was to observe a village and capture or kill a Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. The team of four Navy Seals are discovered by local goatherders. After determining that they were civilians, and not combatants, they release them, according to rules of engagement.The team fall back but are ambushed by Shahs Men.
Prepare yourself if you see this as it is pretty brutal and intense and really shows you the harsh realities of war. Great performances all round, good script focusing on the Brotherhood of the men. Its not preachy and doesn’t go for the big Hollywood patriotism. A definite must see.
