Open Squares Weekend

Yesterday we went to The Open Squares event in London. 200 gardens take part each year. There is a real variety – from private squares to contemporary roof gardens including prisons, museums, schools and allotments. This is the first year we have been so we chose to do the private Squares in Kensington. It was fascinating to explore these beautiful private gardens which you can only normally only glimpse through wrought iron fencing.

We had a lovely roast in the Hereford Arms and they gave me a free pint as it was fathers Day!

Emma had a lovely time as most of the gardens had play equipment and secret paths to run around. She really loved the elephant in the top picture.
