This film follows one week in the life of Llewyn Davis, a folk singer struggling to achieve musical success while keeping his life in order.
Fortunately for the Coen Brothers all the critics seem to love their films even if they produce a film such as this one which has virtually no plot whatsoever. I really don’t think this film deserves all the plaudits it got and I bet the Coen Brothers are sitting around somewhere with a glass in their hand saying “I cant believe we got away with that”.
Their genius lies in the ability of creating quirky scenes containing quirky, eccentric, weird, and above all amusing characters which are a pleasure to watch. This well produced, plot-less film is all those things with some rather good music thrown in and that’s it.
