Backpacking Around the Stour Valley

Last weekend we went backpacking for the first time. On Saturday afternoon, fully loaded with our three man tent and all our kit, we walked the 3 miles from Wormingford to our first campsite at Lower Dairy Farm near Nayland. The campsite was very rustic, right by the river a really nice spot.

On Sunday we walked the 6 miles fron Nayland to Little Ropers Farm near Assington. The route was lovely, following the St Edmunds way towards Arger Fen and on towards Assington.

On the way we met a couple who just been walking in a wood near Hullbacks Farm, they told us about the Bluebells in the nearby wood, so we took a detour to see them and I’m glad we did, they were amazing.
