No Country for Old Men

No Country for Old MenHaving read the book a couple of years ago I was really looking forward to seeing this film. This is a story about Sheriff Ed tom bell (Tommy lee jones) who is near retirement and is on the trail of Lleweln Moss who is on the run with $2 million dollars he found from a drug deal gone wrong and he in turn is also being pursued the people who lost out in the deal, a hitman Anton Chigurh (Javier bardem) and some mexicans.

This is not your normal chase movie, its more about the sheriff reflecting on the evil in todays world and evil is personified in Chigurgh who kills virtually everyone he comes in contact with. There are some really tense scenes and great performances, particularly Tommy lee Jones and Javier Bardem, its well made and it is virtually the same as the book. Be aware though, the structure of this film is quite different and you might be left dissatisfied. Its the sort of film which could take a couple of watches to really get into it.

7/10

N.B some reviewers said this was as good as Fargo… rubbish!
