This film is based on the life story of drug lord Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) who during the late 60’s and early 70’s ran a drug empire in Harlem selling heroin smuggled in the coffins of serviceman killed in the Vietnam war.
Russel Crowe plays the part of Richie Roberts who was the New York detective who pursues Lucas, arrests him and in later years having become a defence attorney defends him.
Its a very good film, tense, but perhaps a bit long, Denzel is good as always and Russel plays Russel very well.
