Gridlock
sirens wail
exhausts billowing
engines revving
snatched conversations “I’ll facebook ya”
crossings beeping
high heels clicking
chinese food cooking
mobiles ringing
get off the main road
leave the maelstrom behind
cold air bites
stars twinkle
tyres hum
bird calls
fox barks
bushes rustle
damp earth smells
moon provides a companion
I follow the pool of light home

I like this poem-very evocative of those fleeting sensory moments on a bike ride.
