Pans Labyrinth
Had the Corkys over for a Movie night on Saturday and we all enjoyed this film. I think I would like to watch it again sometime as subtitled films are bit hard to follow after you’ve had a couple of beers and some wine… 7/10 Continue reading

Spiderman 3
Not so good, in fact quite rubbish. I am giving it 4/10 and thats for a great cgi sequence when the sandman comes to life. Not even watching Kirsten Dunst for a couple of hours could improve this film for me. Continue reading

The Queen
Very good. Helen Mirren was very good but I think Michael Sheen as Tony Blair deserved more recognition for his performance. 7/10 Continue reading

Sunshine
Very very good one of the best sci-fi’s we’ve seen for a long time. The film looks superb, I was a bit frustrated with Danny Boyles direction in the action scenes. I would have preffered to see some longer shots rather than loads of short close up shots. Despite that it still gets 9/10 N.B… Continue reading

36 Quai des Orfevres and 300
Brilliant French thriller. Very tense, no doubt we’ll see the American remake soon but they will never be able to capture the mood and atmosphere of European films. Children of Men
Great production, although I think the director spent too much time perfecting his long shots and creating a world of the future and forgot to focus on the story. Pierrepoint
Superb film about the executioner Albert Pierrepoint starring Timothy Spall. Timothy Spall is brilliant and the production design is really good, everywhere looks so drab, it captures the time perfectly. 10/10 wow! Continue reading

Casino Royale
I though this was excellent. Daniel Craig is really good as Bond. The opening sequence with Bond chasing a terroist played by Sebastien Foucan, the free runner is superb. 7/10 Continue reading
