Father Flynn (Hoffman), is trying to upend the school’s strict customs, which have long been guarded by Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep), a fierce disciplinarian. A Sister shares with Sister Aloysius her suspicion that Father Flynn is paying too much personal attention to a student, without a shred of proof or evidence, Sister Aloysius begins a crusade to both unearth the truth and get rid of Flynn from the school.
Based on the play of the same name this is a pretty good drama although you do find yourself waiting for the showdown between the Flynn and Aloysius. Hoffman is brilliant and Streep is good although I felt she overacts a bit.
