Went to see Elbow at Porchester Hall in London last night, it was fantastic! It was a really small gig, playing to only 500 people in a beautiful old Victorian Hall, which also doubled as the public library. We arrived at about 8.40, after a romantic stand up meal in the chippy, as we approached there was no one around at all not even a tout. We tried the main door but it was locked, security opened one of the other doors to let us in and a woman was asking him if the karate was on tonight? and he was saying no its been cancelled. I was thinking we had got the wrong place so I said “is it the Elbow gig tonight? he said “yes and they’ve just gone on.” so we rushed in.
It was great gig the new stuff is superb and the new single “Grounds for a Divorce” was really brilliant live.
