Wow what a night! Took Ian (Elbow newbie), to see the best band in the world last night. It seemed very weird cueing up outside the arena to see Elbow. Usually we see them at must smaller venues ,although it was quite a plus, getting a beer at one of the much improved arenas multiple bars was much easier than the usual scrum.
Despite the larger numbers, Guy Garvey still managed to create an intimate atmosphere. This was the last night of the current tour and the band were really on form for the finale. The most memorable moment was when they performed “”One day like this”, loads of streamers and silver paper was released over the crowd. I have to say after all the negative stuff going on at the moment it was really wonderful to throw your head back and sing your head off with all the silver paper falling around you – just brilliant.
