Based on the true story of Laurel Hester a police officer from New Jersey. Who, Following her diagnosis with terminal lung cancer in 2005,repeatedly appealed to the county’s board of freeholders in an attempt to ensure her pension benefits could be passed on to her domestic partner Stacie Andree.
A good film which is well worth a watch. Despite having two great actresses I felt some scenes were a bit wooden but its a good story and difficult to believe how bigoted some people are.
The film is based on an Oscar winning 2007 documentary of the same name.
