It was beautiful day yesterday. Very cold, a chilly -2°c when I cycled in. It had risen to a balmy 0°c when I came back but it was a lovely ride home, a perfect day for cycling particularly as there was a not breath from that evil prevailing westerly wind!

what a lovely pic, well done mate
I cycled to my first job today but drove to my second as I didn’t want to be late for Lewis’s swimming lesson!

There is definitely something refreshing about a 0°C ride. In the good old days when I actually used to ride my bike to work, my commute would take me along the banks of the Avon river for a few kilometers. On really cold mornings (-4ºC) I would experience a strange phenomenon as I rode through several pockets of warmer air about 100-150m long before being plunged back into the cold stuff. Something to do with temperature inversion – apparently. It was very bizarre!
I experienced that a couple of weeks ago, at one point there was such a contrast in the temperature my glasses misted up!
