Adapted from a play of the same name, Incendies follows the journey of twin brother and sister as they attempt to unravel the mystery of their mother’s life.
Nawal Marwan, an immigrant to Canada, dies after having a stroke, and her twin children, a brother and sister, receive her final requests in her will. To fulfill her wishes, they must journey to her birthplace in an unnamed Middle-Eastern country and find a brother they didn’t know they had and their father and give them a letter from their mother.
This is a harrowing, gripping and emotionally draining story which has stayed with me since watching it last night. Fanatstic acting, direction and cinematography – its a must see!
