Emma went to Chris’s today so K and I had a lunch and movie date . After a lurvely lunch of tapas we went off to see the film. Its not a bad film, the plot is ok.
Based in 1957, Indie is forced by Russian agents led by Spalko (kate blanchett) to get the remains of the extra terrestrial which is housed in hanger 51 in the Nevada desert, he escapes and being Indie survives an incidental nuclear test explosion by hiding in a fridge. He returns to the college where he teaches and is informed that an old colleague of his has disapeared after discovering a crystal skull in Peru. In Peru, Indie discovers that his buddie has been kidnapped by those ruskies, so he rushes off, finds the skull and then there is a long chase when those dastardly ruskies try to get the skull back. They then find that the crystal skull has come from the skeleton of an alien, they pop the skull back he becomes the alien all the baddies are sucked into another dimension and all the temples collapse as they always do.
Its all quite entertaining, but so drawn out, the chase scenes go on forever, I was thinking “skip to the end” a few times. On the plus side, I really fancied Kate Blanchett in a boiler suit with a russian accent, totally did it for me.
But still, it only gets 6/10
