John Harold Arnold Bramwell

JHAB
Went to see JHAB play an acoustic set at the Loft in Cambridge last night.

It was a great venue, a small bar in the loft above a pub. It was sold out and even then there was only about about a hundred people there. He was, as always, brilliant. I can never tire of going to watch them live (this was the fifth time). His lyrics are so profound that the music is almost an added bonus.

The new songs are superb particularly “Fingertips” and I think that this could be the album that breaks them into the mass market. I must be honest I will be dissapointed when Jo Wylie plays them on her show as it may spell the end of the intimate gigs we have been able to enjoy. I wonder what JHAB would prefer?

Lyric from an as yet unamed song:
“we’ll write our mistakes in the sand and watch the sea wash them away”
