Where was shaun?

Released here as “Blue is the Warmest Colour” this film tells the story of teenager Adele who experiences love at first sight when she walks past a girl with blue hair while crossing a street. She dates a boy for a while but finds the relationship dissatisfying and eventually seeks out the girl with blue hair (Emma). She finds her, they become friends and eventually, lovers.
The years pass, Adele finishes school and becomes a teacher, the girls live together, Emma is an artist but Adele has little in common with Emma’s arty intellectual friends and their relationship begins to suffer…

I find many french films eminently watchable and this one doesn’t disappoint. The direction is really good, the director seems to just catch the actors at their most intimate moments rather than a prepared scene. Both the actresses do a fantastic job portraying this intense, flawed love story. Its a must see. just to warn you though its nearly three hours long and there is quite a long sex scene…..
