This is one of my favourite books from Emma’s collection. I love reading it to her, its a story of a boy who one day finds a penguin on his doorstep. The boy decides the penguin must be lost and tries to return him. But no one seems to be missing a penguin. So the boy decides to take the penguin home himself, and they set out in his row boat on a journey to the South Pole. But when they get there, the boy discovers that maybe home wasn’t what the penguin was looking for after all…. Its a lovely story and beautifully illustrated.
The story has now been made into a short film which will be shown on channel 4 on Christmas eve and boxing day, I’ll definitely be recording it for Emma.
