Maiden is a documentary film about Tracy Edwards and the crew of the Maiden as they compete as the first all-woman crew in the 1989–1990 Whitbread Round the World Race.
In a sport that had previously been dominated by men this team of ladies led by Tracy Edwards struggle to get funding but manage to patch up a second hand boat and have to endure sexual condescension along with the tremendous physical and mental trials the race throws at them.
A fascinating and inspiring story.
