Two boys Ellis and Neckbone (!?) travel to an island to see a boat stuck high in a tree but discover Mud, a fugitive who had lived in the area. Mud needs help to avoid the police and some dodgy characters, reunite with his girlfriend and skip town. The Boys decide to help mainly because, Ellis particularly, believes Mud to be motivated by Love.
I really enjoyed this film. All the press praise Matthew McConaughey’s perfomance he is good but I think the best performance is by Tye Sheridan who plays Ellis, a young man coming of age and trying to understand love and relationships.
