Quiet Place: Day one

Popped up to the Electric Palace in Harwich on Saturday to see Quiet Place: Day One. We had missed it on its original release but when we saw it was in at the Electric Palace we thought we would go as it’s been ages since we last went. We had a pint in the Alma which is still as welcoming as it was the last time went.

The Electric Palace opened in 1911

The film was really good I would give it 10/10 and Emma has written a review;

A Quiet Place: Day One Review

How would you spend your last days?

In the opening sequence of A Quiet Place: Day One, we meet Sam (Lupita Nyong’o), a terminally ill cancer patient spending her final months in a lonely hospice on the outskirts of New York city. In many ways, she has already stopped living. This all changes , when the blind, noise sensitive aliens seen previously in the A Quiet Place franchise descend on NYC, force Sam abruptly back into life. Suddenly, the tables have turned as people begin to die around her, sam begins to live again. In the company of Eric (JosephQuinn) and her faithful cat, Sam embarks an a journey through devastated New York in pursuit of one last piece of pizza. Director Michael Samoski finds the perfect balance between the horror of the original two movies and his own, more character orientated take on the franchise through a moving script and inventive jump scares.

 Nyong’o and Quinn, as well as feline actors Nico and Schnitzel are also excellent. The result is a beautifully empathetic, edge of your seta horror.

Definitely a must watch!
