We spent the final two nights of our holiday in Salzburg. A very historic city, in a beautiful location, which was also the place where the “Sound of Music” was filmed.
We visited the Stiegel Brewery..
Then we went on the “sound of Music Tour” with Fräulein Maria´s Bicycle Tours which was fantastic. A gorgeous sunny day, cruising the city on its fabulous cycle paths, being shown all the historic buildings, the countryside and the locations from the film.
Outside the Convent
Emma doing her bit from “I have confidence in me” outside the palace
In front of Leopoldskron Palace which also represented the Von Trapp residence.
One of the guys on the trip took this one of us in the poppy field outside Frohnburg Palace.
Augustiner Braustubl
After all that cycling we really needed a drink so we headed off to the Augustiner Braustubl a brewery founded by monks in 1621 where the (delicous) beer is still served from a wooden barrel in 1 ltr stone mugs, they do do half litre as well but why would only want one of those?
Oi Emma thats my beer!
For when you got the munchies there was whole collection of counters where you could get roast chicken and all sorts of yummy goodies!
To give you an idea of the size of the place these are the steps down to the entrance hall.

You certainly seem to have had a super time despite the wet weather at the beginning. The photos are amazing!
