Richard Branson has written a remembrance of Steve Fossett in Time magazine so it seems the Steve Fossetts friends are now accepting that he has died after going missing on September 3rd.
His section on Wikipedia is amazing, he has held116 world records 60 of which still stand. He was a pilot, mountaineer, sailor and skier. He has ran an Iron man Triathlon, the Boston Marathon, and the Leadville Trail 100, a 100-mile Colorado ultra marathon which involves running up elevations of more than 14,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains.
He has also competed in the 24 hours of Le Mans road race twice, along with the Paris to Dakar Auto Rally. Oh, he was also an extremely successful business man.
