This is the story of a rather lonely chap, Walter, a widower, who returns to New York to discover a couple, Tarek and Zaineb, living in his apartment. They are both illigal immagrants who have rented the aprtment from a con man. Realising they have nowhere to go, Walter allows them to stay. Over the next few days a friendship develops between Walter and Tarek who, teaches Walter to play the drum. One night after a drumming gig, Tarek is arrested and sent to a detention centre for illegal immagrants and Walter tries to get him released….
Made by the writer and director of The Station Agent. I really enjoyed this film, Richard Jenkins is excellent as Walter, a quiet, reserved, likeable and loyal character who you really care about throughout the film.
