No doubt you know the story- Mattie Ross hires Rooster Cogburn to hunt down her fathers murderer believing him to have “true grit”.
Its been years since I’ve seen the original so I was able to watch it without comparing it. Its all quite enjoyable but I must admit I wasn’t exactly on the edge of my seat. Jeff Bridge’s dialogue is unintelligible most of the time but 14yr old Hailee Stanfield is fantastic as Mattie Ross.
Definitely not one of the best Coen Brothers films. Leave it until it comes out on DVD.
