You can vote now on the Peoples 50 million website for one of four projects which are vying for a one-off £50m grant. They include Sherwood Forest which could get an eco makeover and Cornwall an indoor desert, the Black Country could revamp its waterways and much of the UK might see new walking and cycling routes.
This will be the biggest lottery allocation awarded by public vote in the UK, the final choice falling not to a panel of experts but to the nation. Voting will take place online and by telephone following an ITV1 show in December.
Personally, my vote is with Sustrans who urgently needs you to register your support for Connect2 the exciting UK-wide project that aims to improve local travel in 79 communities by creating new walking and cycling routes for the local journeys we all make every day.
