Week in The Borders

The Old Larder – Glen House – Innerleithen

We have just returned from a fantastic week in The Borders. We stayed in the Old larder which is part of the Glen House an Estate just outside Innerleithen.

We spent the week walking, exploring the estate, Peebles, Melrose and Edinburgh which included a walk up Arthurs Seat. I had a day on my bike cycling doing another Gravel Ride from Ed Shoote’s book. This time I did the “Four Forests and a Wind Farm in The Tweed Valley”. It was a great ride the ascent upto Bowbeat Hill dragged on a bit but the forests were lovely at this time of year.

We also did a couple of walks from Merlrose and Peebles which is a lovely bustling town with some good shops and cafes.
