Good film but way way too long. Fincher has done a great job of capturing the time and the acting is very good particularly Mark Ruffalo as the police detective Dave Toschi. But the section of the film where Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal) conducts his own investigation just drags on for ever. I almost lost all interest.

After a promising start the film becomes totally boring and pointless-one of those you could kick yourself for watching. The final insult from the director is that the epilogue is written in such small print that you just can’t read it!
Marks out of ten:- minus five and I’m just off to melt this DVD in the microwave!
